Welcome Rev. Eric Posa!

Welcome, Rev. Eric Posa!

UUCCH welcomes Rev. Eric Posa as our new Contract Minister starting in August 2024.

It’s a banner day at UUCCH as the Board of Trustees welcomes Reverend Eric Posa, who has accepted our offer to be our contract-to-call minister beginning August 1, 2024.  The contract allows the option for the congregation to vote on calling Rev. Posa as our settled minister at the end of the contract period.

With a wealth of experience as a settled minister, an interim minister and a teacher, this Texas native brings energy, warmth and most of all a devotion to our values and our mission. With great thanks and gratitude for the hard work of the Ministerial Search Committee (Kate Sloan, Sharon Hardy, Paul Asman, Gina Hertzig, Anne Norton, Val Sadwin,Jenn Snively) and the Contract Negotiating Team (Ken Slight, Bill Warner, Paul Asman).

Rev. Eric Posa (he/him) has been a committed Unitarian Universalist for over 30 years, since first joining his home church during his senior year of college in 1994. An alum of the University of North Texas and of Brite Divinity School, he comes to UUCCH alongside his spouse, Suzi. Rev. Eric has 19 years experience in UU ministry, most recently a brief “targeted ministry” at Birmingham Unitarian Church in the Detroit suburbs. Throughout his career, he has been a hospital chaplain, settled minister, and contract minister, as well as serving 12 years in interim ministries in Texas, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington state, Colorado, and Louisiana. His ministry combines social justice activism with spiritual and theological reflection, as well as a calm pastoral presence and experience with church governance issues.
