Our first ever virtual International Dinner will be held Saturday, February 27 from 6-8 pm. Join us on zoom as we gather to celebrate our ancestor cultures, tell origin stories, and welcome guests. AND don’t forget dinner! Make a dish from our shared e-cookbook, or make a dish from your own heritage, and we’ll eat virtually together. Entertainment will also be provided by our children, and we’ll have an opportunity to give back by using our online giving options (for UUCCH’s Immigration work).
We are creating a shared e-cookbook for this event! The e-cookbook will be able to be purchased for $5, with proceeds going to UUCCH Immigration work. Please add UP TO FOUR of your recipes no later than February 19, so we can get the book ready for purchase and download. We are doing four categories: Beverages, Dessert, Side Dish, Main Dish (meat or vegetarian). You can add your recipes here: http://www.bakespace.com/recipes/groupsubmit/8968132385. You can view detailed instructions on entering a recipe here.
Calling all entertainers! Talent Needed for International Dinner
We are hoping to have some great entertainment for our virtual celebration! Our own Greta A. is sitting on the planning committee, and she thought to invite our children and youth to be the entertainment for the evening. It could be a song, poem, instrumental performance, or dance. If your child(ren) is/are interested in performing, please fill out this form by Friday, Feb. 12: https://forms.gle/kZDbVmd63hpvuH877.
Once we have people signed up, we’ll contact everyone about details, due dates for videos and where to upload them, etc.
*Another message will go out if your family is interested in sharing personal immigration stories.
