Presidents Day celebrates George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as leaders revered in our nation’s heritage. We know these men were human, imperfect as are we all, and so we are called in our time to acknowledge their shortcomings, and to celebrate the positive influences they brought to the world. How do we choose our exemplars, and how do we balance our understanding of human imperfection with the gifts that have created the world that is now ours to shape for the future?
