In the last week, the Board of Trustees approved the final contracts for the renovation of our sanctuary and the reconstruction of the East terrace. The contracts have been signed and delivered.

The start date of construction is early September.

For the upcoming construction phase, Ed Fox will be stepping back from the role of UUCCH’s Project Coordinator. UUCCH’s Property Chair and Renovators team member, Dan Nichols will be taking Ed’s place in this position. Dan, a Registered Architect, will have the opportunity with this position to “take a different seat at the construction table” as an owner’s representative.

The first aspect of the work is the sprinkler system. You may remember that the entire system on the main floor needed to be replaced. The system in the Commons and other areas of the main floor were already completed. The work in the sanctuary will complete the fire protection system replacement effort at UUCCH’s main floor.
