The Community Outreach Work (COW) team promotes UUCCH values by providing members and friends with opportunities to reach out and support communities in our area with various collections and service projects, including the following recent activities:

Collections drives:

• School supplies for children in need (in partnership with Unforgotten Haven)
• Winter clothing for Camden homeless (in support of Joseph’s House)
• Holiday toys for children in need (through Sacred Heart Church in Camden)
• Grocery gift cards to help families of immigrants detained in Delaney Hall in collaboration with the Immigration Task Force
• Toiletry and other products for women in domestic abuse shelters (in partnership with Unforgotten Haven)
• Weekend food bags for food insecure kids (in support of the Neighborhood Center in Camden)
• Feminine products in collaboration with the Immigration Task Force and Womyn and Religion (in support Sisters of Saint Joseph Neighborhood Center in Camden)
• Food for Cherry Hill Food Pantry (ongoing)
• New and gently used books for Book Smiles (ongoing)

Service Projects involving UUCCH volunteers:

• Assembled Empowerment Bags containing items and notes of encouragement for women in domestic abuse shelters in collaboration with Children’s Faith Engagement
• Sorted books with members of Congregation with Kol Ami (in support of Book Smiles)
• Working at the Cherry Hill Food Pantry
