Visiting Us
Welcome!
To connect with us, fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
Unitarian Universalists are a caring, open-minded religious community that encourages you to seek your own spiritual path. Our congregations are places where people gather to nurture their spirits and put their faith into action by helping to make our communities and the world a better place. Join us in creating a loving, spiritual community by:
- Learning and teaching, to know others and ourselves
- Valuing and embracing the richness of all our diversities
- Serving others and confronting injustice, achieving more together than each can do alone
Worship
We worship together each Sunday at 10:15. People of all ages, identities and abilities, including families with children, are welcome at every service. Our services are inspirational and thought-provoking, spanning the breadth of spiritual beliefs in our world and challenging us to help create a more tolerant and just society. Our services address a variety of themes and topics, and include moving and energetic music provided by our superb Music Ministry Program.
Learn
Our church is a place of exploration. Through our wide array of children, youth, and adult programming, our members explore and deepen their faith commitments, and learn to serve the world. We are non-creedal, and support each other in our search for truth and meaning. We offer a family ministry style of learning, with opportunities for individual growth, all ages learning, group activities, and challenges to live out UU values in our everyday lives.
Value
UUCCH is a supportive and inclusive spiritual community. We are a people of many beliefs and backgrounds, of diverse races, abilities, classes, gender identity and sexual orientation. Our community bonds around the central ideas of tolerance, acceptance, and mutual support. Social events throughout the year bring us together in common fellowship, and adult programs help us to share our diverse experiences with each other.
Serve
Our church offers a wide variety of activities to serve both within, and outside, the congregation. Our social justice commitments include learning, advocacy and supporting the transformation in ourselves and in society, to create a world of more justice and peace for all. We engage in hand-on service to give back to the communities around us. Being of service is at the core of who we are as Unitarian Universalists, and we continue to confront injustice and promote our values of equity and compassion.
Principles
Unitarian Universalists are guided by seven principles in our congregational life, and in our daily lives. As a member congregation of the UUA we affirm and promote:
- The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
- Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
- Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
- A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
- The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
- The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
- Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
