For Parents

Our main mission is to provide each child with a spiritual framework, based on the shared principles of our UU congregations, which will help each child nurture their own unique spiritual identity. We work hard to offer a program that meets a variety of needs and addresses a diverse set of religious concepts and issues.

Your input is integral to our mission and we invite your feedback at all times.  We recommend that you get to know your child’s teachers, the members of the Children’s Religious Education Committee (CREC), Junior Youth Steering Committee (JYSC), and/or Youth/Adult Committee, as well as the Consulting Minister for Religious Education and Pastoral Care, Julie-Ann Silberman-Bunn.  The best way to understand what your children are experiencing in the classroom and the kinds of questions they may be pondering is to get involved in the program as a teacher, as a member of one of the RE committees, or by volunteering in the program in another way.

Our program is cooperative and we rely on the involvement of parents and other adults in the church to run it. Everyone brings something special and unique to the table - you, your children, the teachers, and other adults. When we each share our unique gifts and perspectives, the entire community is enriched.
