Chalice Children (ages 3-4 years)
Room C202
Children in this age group attend the first 15-20 minutes of Sunday services with their families. After the “Story for All Ages,” the Chalice Children proceed to class. Our Chalice Children's class runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Please sign your child in on the attendance form. Please make sure you pick them up and sign them out no later than 11:30.
On the second Sunday of each month from October through June, our young people do not attend the Sunday service. Instead, they go directly to Fellowship Hall at 10:15 am for Children’s Worship. We try to incorporate some of the same elements found in adult worship, but we realize that movement and hands-on activities are more meaningful and developmentally appropriate for children in this age range.
Please note that this class is geared toward children who reach their third birthday on or before September 30, of the current academic year. If your child does not meet this requirement but you believe he or she is developmentally ready for the preschool class, please speak with the Consulting Minister for Religious Education and Pastoral Care, Julie_Ann Silberman-Bunn.
There is no preschool class when intergenerational services for families are scheduled (Ingathering, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter) or when RE takes a holiday (Labor Day and Memorial Day). Please do not leave preschoolers in the nursery on these days. The nursery is equipped for infants and toddlers only. You are welcome to bring quiet toys and activities for your preschooler to play with during the service.
